New York City in the 2020’s has already uniquely influenced a multitude of industries among fashion, arts, and music. Consider the large scale of post pandemic New York Newbies moving to Manhattan, the world’s obsession with the Brooklyn nightlife scene, and the extreme documentation of outlandish, sometimes cool, sometimes normie-adjacent outfits and behavior documented in Soho Tiktoks. Home ain’t what it used to be.

Who did this?!

The Culture Jock explores, analyzes, and documents the current cultural scene in a post-pandemic New York City. Through the documentation of personal experiences (via events, exhibits, bodies of work, etc.) and conducting interviews among existing talent (hometown heroes, New York newbies, or even passersby,) the goal is to provide a platform for those at the forefront pioneering the next era of what makes this city so special.

TCJ works to create a network to facilitate communication among artists to expand their available resources with one another. Additionally, it is a platform via which fellow big nerds may personally discover emerging talent—a new favorite artist, musician, etc. with whom one might find they share a lot in common. :)
